Bank reconciliation for your estate
A contribution has been paid — but which charge does it settle? Controlled reconciliation connects the bank statement to the outstanding charges of your estate.
A received payment is not yet an explained payment
An owner may hold several units, pay in instalments or pay late. A name in the transaction description is not always enough. An incorrect match changes the outstanding amount. Estate therefore separates importing a transaction from allocating its credit to a charge.
Work with your existing bank account
Keep your existing banking arrangements. Use a CSV transaction export from online banking and map its date, reference, description and amount columns. Different date and number formats and separate debit and credit columns can be configured. Save spreadsheets as CSV before importing; PDF statements are not a direct import format.
Check the complete statement period first
Choose the account label, bank source, delimiter and header row. Map the date, unique bank reference, description and signed amount, or use separate debit and credit columns. Select the date and decimal formats explicitly. The currency and opening and closing balances must match the estate and the full period being imported.
The preview is your control point
Review the rows and totals before importing. Opening balance plus credits minus debits must equal the closing balance. Invalid dates, ambiguous amounts and a mismatched currency stop the import. The bank reference must identify one movement; an invoice number alone is not a safe transaction identifier.
Allocate deliberately, keep corrections traceable
Credits can be allocated to invoices; debit entries remain visible for review. Repeated imports with the same account label and bank reference are checked for duplicates. Corrections preserve the allocation history. Importing a file does not send a bank transfer or initiate a collection.
Begin with a complete statement period
Choose a full period with opening and closing balances. Review the preview and allocations against the original records. During onboarding, we help you configure the columns of your export and establish a clear starting point.
